Dear 2020 OIS Golfers & Parents,

Golf is back at OIS! Last year our golfers made it to the championship match and showed great sportsmanship and improvement.  All our golfers were invited to participate in at least one of the many matches and scrimmages throughout the season.

Registration will be limited to the first 32 golfers who sign up, with 24 making the final team after tryouts.  The team will be made up of 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

The program has gained popularity over the past few years, and we were able to expand up to 24 team members.  However, all players new to the team will need to try out for the open positions.

The success of the program relies on the parents’ support and participation. All parents will be asked to commit to their share of carpool duty, supervised practices and matches prior to being accepted on the team.



Golf Tryouts:  Tryouts information will be shared after registration.

A meeting will be held on Monday 2/24 at 4pm in the OIS Library.  All team members and a parent/guardian are asked to attend.  At this meeting parents will be required to sign up for four volunteer shifts per child.  Please bring your schedules to the meetings.

Players should sign up by paying the enrollment donation on Bulldog Webstore – if you do not make the team, your donation will be fully refunded.  The Team Enrollment will be $575, this includes greens fees, golf professionals, administrative expenses and team uniforms.  If you are unable to pay the enrollment donation, please contact Dianna Langer,

General Team Schedule/Information

Our season is typically 7 weeks long, starting on Monday 4/6 and running through Wednesday 5/20.  We practice on Monday and Tuesday and match play on Wednesday. The team will be using multiple courses this season.  Details will be shared at the Meeting on February 24, 2020. Tryouts will be at Buchanan Fields.   

Responsibilities & Rules

Players are responsible to provide their own golf clubs. 

Dress Code: Country Club attire.  Collared golf shirts for boys that are tucked in and Khaki or black pants or shorts that are mid-thigh in length are required, belts preferred. No short shorts or skirts allowed. Absolutely no denim, gym shorts or tee shirts are allowed. Pants that are ragged, tattered or have holes, etc. are unacceptable.  Soft-spike golf shoes are preferred, inappropriate footwear will not be allowed. All players must wear team uniforms on Match Days.  Team shirt and hat will be provided.
