Directions to Schools

Students are encouraged to participate in all meets, but it is not required.

  • RSVP for meets Online - Event Tracker link
  • Sign up for specific events - with Coaches at practice
  • Parents sign up to drive carpool with Dianna Langer online - Sign up Genius (see Transportation... below)

What Should Be Worn?

A track jersey (uniform) is issued to all participants. All uniforms need to be laundered and returned at the end of the season. Athlete’s can wear their PE shorts. Running shoes are required; no spikes allowed!

Transportation TO

Carpools TO meets are coordinated by Dianna Langer (Admin coordinator). The ride back to Orinda is not. Parent/driver volunteers sign up (via Sign up Genius and must have completed the insurance/safety form for this school year. Students meet parent drivers in upper lot near science wing right after school.

Transportation FROM

Because students participate in different events and therefore finish at different times, parents are responsible for the pick up of their child from every meet. Parents who have offered to be contacted directly for a ride back to Orinda will note on Sign up Genius. If carpooling home with a team member, parents should validate this arrangement with driver and coach. Students should check out with a coach before they leave the meet. Pick up time varies depending on events and size of meet. Generally, plan for pick up by 5:30 or 6pm.

What is the Order of Meet Events?

The order of events is:
4x100, 400, 800, 100, MILE, 200 and 4x400
Field events run concurrently to the running events.

All meets start at 4pm sharp and last for a couple of hours based on the number of participants at each meet.

Note: Students are allowed to participate in one running event and two field events, or two running events and one field event, plus both relays.

Help Requested!

Each school is asked to provide at least one parent per meet to help with timing and recording. This takes minimal effort and knowledge and would be greatly appreciated. If you are able, thank you and ask that you to email Jason Curry with your availability.
