FAQs

What if I have a conflict on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays?
When you sign up, you will be able to select either the Tuesday cast, or Wednesday cast, or Thursday cast. Note that each cast will also be called to rehearsal some Fridays. The Tuesday cast is also called on Monday 11/18.  The Thursday cast is also called on Monday 11/4 and 12/2.  Look carefully at the detailed Rehearsal Schedule before selecting the cast that best fits your schedule.

Does the Director have any tips or advice for me?
During auditions, remember that it is important to perform with expression and movement. Being nervous at your audition is normal. Nervous energy is actually good and can help you deliver your best performance. Remember to PROJECT your voice at your audition and be expressive. This is not the time to be shy. This is your chance to show the Director what you’ve got, so give it your all!

Do I try out for a particular role?
Students will not be auditioning solely for one particular role. The Director will explain the audition process in full during the Audition Workshop. You will be given all the information you need to have a successful audition at that time.

How will the Director make casting decisions?
Casting decisions are based on several factors such as energy, ability to project, expression and movement, level of experience and preparation, level of commitment, ability to work as a team, and fit for a particular role. Casting is a giant puzzle and it is the most challenging part of being involved with theater.

When do I find out which role I have been cast in?
Casting will be announced at the first rehearsal following auditions.  An email will be sent to families after the first rehearsal to confirm roles.

Parent Commitment
Parents are asked to attend a Parent Meeting at the end of their student’s Audition Workshop (8/20/2019 for Tuesday cast, 8/21/2019 for Wednesday cast, or 8/22/2019 for Thursday cast). Parents will receive regular communication regarding the show from BACT (e-mail address ois@bactheatre.org).

There are a number of parent Production Jobs including areas of ticket sales, concessions sales, photography, graphics design, flowers, ushering, and cast and crew celebration. Parents are asked to sign up for a position. Filling these positions will contribute to the overall success of the production. Thank you for your support!
