Program Overview

2022 Spring musical - Important Information

Enrollments for cast and tech crew are processed on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Registration is currently open and enrollment will begin at 7:00am on 12/7/2021 via the Town Hall Education Family Portal (Jackrabbit).  Refer to the Enrollment Process below for instructions and links.

The production is produced and staffed by Town Hall Theatre Company through their THEd Residency Program. Regular rehearsals take place at OIS. 

Tech/dress rehearsals and performances take place at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette, CA.  Regular rehearsals still take place at OIS.

Subject to minimum enrollment, there will be two casts and one tech crew.  Each acting cast has its own dedicated rehearsal day, either Tuesday or Wednesday and has two performances each.  Tech crew rehearses on Tuesdays starting later in the program, and serves both cast's tech/dress rehearsals and performances.  See Program Schedule below for details and performance dates. 

There are no initial auditions for acceptance into the program. All auditions are held after enrollments are complete. Everyone who enrolls is guaranteed a role. 

If a cast is full, you will be given the opportunity to be placed on the waitlist for the cast of your choice.

Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical comes to life on stage in Disney’s High School Musical JR.! Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. Cost to Participate

The Bulldog Theater After-School Drama Program suggests a contribution of $450 for each cast member and $200 for tech crew members to be paid through Town Hall Education Family Portal (Jackrabbit).  Refer to the Enrollment Process below for links.  Other expenses may include costume base-layer pieces and specific footwear for actors, and tickets to see the performances.

Enrollment Process

Town Hall Theatre Company administers the enrollment and payment process.  There are TWO steps to enrolling for a class: registering/signing up for Jackrabbit which is Town Hall's class system, and then enrolling in the specific class. 

  • You can register/sign up for Jackrabbit anytime in advance of enrollment. 
  • Enrollment for the OIS program will open at 7:00am on 12/7/2021.

First Time Enrolling in a Town Hall Class?
STEP 1: Create a Town Hall Education JACKRABBIT ACCOUNT.  To complete registration through Jackrabbit, you are asked to input credit card information. Please note that this just links your card to your online Jackrabbit account and does not complete payment for classes. 
STEP 2: Enroll in the specific class.  See "IMPORTANT: NEW AND RETURNING FAMILIES" below.

You may register/create a Jackrabbit account prior to 12/7/2021, but you will not see any of the OIS classes listed until 12/7/2021. 

Returning Family to Town Hall?
STEP 1: Sign into your previously created Town Hall Education JACKRABBIT PORTAL.
STEP 2: Enroll in the specific class.  See "IMPORTANT: NEW AND RETURNING FAMILIES" below.

Please double check that you are enrolled for the correct class. Town Hall has multiple classes each day of the week.  The classes are labeled as follows:
   THEd Residency: OIS TUESDAY High School Musical Jr.
   THEd Residency: OIS WEDNESDAY High School Musical Jr. 
   THEd Residency: OIS TUESDAY Tech Class

Once you create your account and log in, the price for the class will show up under "account balance" as an unpaid balance. If you have successfully enrolled for the class, it will show up under "My Schedule" at the bottom of the home page. You may complete the class payment just after enrolling, but it is not a requirement. You will be notified via email that payment will be collected one week after enrollment via the card on file unless you reach out about a payment plan or tuition assistance.

*Actors and tech crew called to Town Hall Theatre one hour prior to each performance. 


There are a few jobs where parents can help including photography, poster distribution and concessions.  Parents will be sent a link and can sign up for jobs in February, after the program has started.  Filling these positions will contribute to the overall success of the production. Thank you for your support!

All after-school enrichment programs need to be self-sufficient financially and no school funds are allocated to underwrite any program. Private funding from the parent community is needed to operate all programs held outside of the regular class or they cannot continue. California regulations prohibit schools from requiring students to pay a fee, deposit, or other charges not specifically authorized by law. Fees or charges for co-curricular or extra-curricular activities are not allowed.

Town Hall Theatre Company produces and administers the program, providing teaching artists and production staff through their Town Hall Education (THEd) Residency program.  Regular rehearsals take place at OIS.  Tech/dress rehearsals and performances take place at Town Hall Theater, 3535 School Street, Lafayette, CA.

Jeanette Lipp is a former OIS parent and provides administrative support to OIS.
