Math
The OIS Math Department focuses on California Common Core Math Standards and the 8 Mathematical Practices. All students will be problem solvers and critical thinkers who will be successful in high school and beyond. Students will communicate their reasoning and learn to think deeply about mathematical concepts. There are mulitple pathways offered, and students will be assessed by the math department throughout the year to ensure that the appropriate placement is being recommended.

Multilevel Common Core Math Support
All OIS students are expected to enroll in a grade level math course. The Multilevel Common Core Math Support class is designed to provide targeted, multi-level instruction to students requiring support to meet grade-level math standards. This course offers a highly structured and supportive learning environment where students build foundational math skills, close learning gaps, and develop the confidence needed for mathematical success.
