7th Grade Science
Seventh grade science is a year-long, inquiry-based course aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will explore the interactions among the biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere, while also examining human impacts on these systems and potential solutions. Building on prior knowledge, the curriculum focuses on Earth’s systems, natural resources, ecosystems, and genetics.
Students will develop and apply science and engineering practices, such as observation, inquiry, collaboration, model development, data analysis, and explanation construction, through a variety of labs, activities, and projects. Additionally, the seventh grade science curriculum includes the required Human and Sexual Education unit.
