Eighth grade science is a year-long, inquiry-oriented integrated science course based on the California Next Generation Science Standards. 

Students will investigate the overarching theme of processes that change Earth's systems at different spatial scales today and also caused changes in the past. Included in this curriculum are four storylines based on the following instructional segments found in the framework: (Objects Move and Collide, Noncontact Forces Influence Phenomena, Evolution Explains Life’s Unity and Diversity, and Sustaining Local and Global Biodiversity.)
