About Bulldog Sports

The Bulldog Sports program is sponsored by Parent's Club (OISPC) and administered by the OUSD.  The program is funded directly from your registration contribution for sports.

Our after school sports program provides all OIS students an equal opportunity to learn, to play and to enjoy a variety of exciting team and individual sports. Through meaningful training and positive interactions, our ultimate goal is to get ALL of our athletes to 'learn and play UNITED!'

Practice
Practice sessions start right after school and last 90 minutes. Most teams meet 3 times a week. Monday through Friday except for our 6th-grade team sports, and our specialty sports which meet 1-2 times a week. Students are encouraged to take part in all scheduled practices, contests, and all team functions.

Practice schedules are subject to change, but Bulldog Sports will try to provide extra minutes in the event a cancellation occurs.

League Play
Our traditional sports teams compete against other middle schools in the East Bay. Both home and away games will be scheduled. For away games, parents will be asked to assist with carpooling.

Administration
Our very own attendance specialist, Brian Sparks, will manage the program as our newly appointed Athletic Director. PE teacher, Jason Curry, will serve as a Program Coordinator to aide Brian in his new role. Keli Cooper will continue with all administrative aspects of the program as Administrative Coordinator. Our team will continue to strive for program excellence and 100% player and parent satisfaction!

Coaches
It is our goal, desire and mission to hire a high caliber of coaches who are mature, knowledgeable, and experienced. We will strive to put together a top-notch cadre of adult coaches who possess the desired qualities and characteristics to ensure the program’s success.

Parents
Parent participation and assistance is pivotal in our program's success. Parents are encouraged (although not required) to get involved, attend games, and take an active role in their child's after school sports experience. All parents volunteering to carpool will need TB clearance, fingerprinting, and a current driver form on file.
